INDUSTRY'S FIRST 32-TAP, NONVOLATILE DIGITAL POTENTIOMETERS IN A SOT23 HAVE ULTRA-LOW TEMPERATURE DRIFT
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 5, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX5471/MAX5472/MAX5474/
MAX5475, the industry's first family of 32-tap, nonvolatile digital potentiometers with on-chip EEPROM packaged in SOT23. The on-chip memory enables the devices to operate like mechanical potentiometers by storing the wiper position prior to power down. This results in a significant size reduction when compared to mechanical pots. The MAX547x are also the industry's first digital pots with EEPROM to offer ratiometric and end-to-end temperature coefficients as low as 5ppm/°C and 35ppm/°C, respectively.
The MAX547x save power by requiring less than 1µA in standby and by operating from a 2.7V to 5.5V single supply. End-to-end resistances of 50k and 100k are available. The devices come in two wiper configurations: voltage divider or variable resistor. An up/down 3-wire serial interface makes these new digital pots simple to operate.
Prices start at $0.53 (1000-up, FOB USA).
