LOW-POWER, 16-BIT, 500Msps LVDS DAC DELIVERS INDUSTRY-LEADING SFDR PERFORMANCE
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 17, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX5888 state-of-the-art high-performance 16-bit, 500Msps digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This device offers industry-leading performance in spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) and adjacent-channel leakage ratio (ACLR). This outstanding performance makes the MAX5888 ideal for applications such as broadband multicarrier communications, direct IF synthesis, automated test equipment (ATE), and instrumentation. The device also features an LVDS input interface.
At a 40MHz output frequency, this device offers an SFDR of 76dBc. At an output frequency of 61MHz (3.8MHz channel), the ACLR is 73dBc. The MAX5888 achieves this high level of performance while consuming only 130mW (typ) at a 100Msps sampling rate.
Available in a space-saving 68-pin QFN-EP package, the MAX5888 is specified for the extended-industrial temperature range (-40° C to +85° C). Prices start at $34.50 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
