FIRST TRIPLE-VOLTAGE SUPERVISORS IN SOT23 PACKAGES
Note to Editors: The MAX6355/MAX6356 microprocessor supervisory circuits are the first to monitor up to three voltages in a SOT23 package. Two voltage thresholds are preset at the factory, and a third can be set by the customer using a resistor-divider. The benefits are that the MAX6355/MAX6356 occupy significantly less board space, cost less, and increase reliability and accuracy over existing solutions.
SUNNYVALE, CA-August 11, 1999-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6355/MAX6356 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor up to three voltages, these parts reduce board space and cost and increase reliability by reducing external components and adjustments. The MAX6355/MAX6356 are designed to monitor two factory-set voltages (either 5V and 3.3V or 3.3V and 2.5V) and a third voltage that can be set by the customer with an external resistor-divider. These devices also include a debounced manual reset input and are available in tiny 6-pin SOT23 packages.
The MAX6355/MAX6356 feature 2.5% reset threshold accuracy over temperature. Whenever any of the three supply voltages declines below its threshold, a reset signal is asserted and maintained for 180ms after VCC returns above the reset threshold (or until the manual reset is deasserted). The MAX6355 features an open-drain, active-low RESET output; the MAX6356 features a push-pull, active-low RESET output. Both devices consume only 20µA supply current, and their reset outputs are guaranteed valid to 1.0V.
The MAX6355/MAX6356 are available in 6-pin SOT23 packages. There are two standard versions of each device (2500 pc. order increment). Contact the factory for availability of nonstandard versions (10,000 pc. order increment). Prices start from $1.38 (2500 pc. standard versions only, FOB USA).
