TINY 3.2Gbps EQUALIZER INTERFACES TO ANY Vcc

(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX3803 ultra-small equalizer. The MAX3803 provides automatic compensation for transmission-medium losses encountered with FR4 stripline and cable. Packaged in a tiny 2mm x 2.5mm UCSP™ package, the MAX3803's small size provides placement and routing flexibility. This device is ideal for backplane applications requiring up to 40in between the line card and the switch card, or up to 10m of twin ax cable between racks.
The CML inputs and outputs are DC-coupled and can be terminated to a supply as low as 1.1V, thereby saving off-chip component count. The MAX3803 operates from 1Gbps to 3.2Gbps and consumes only 160mW at 3.3V. Prices start at $3.95 (1000-up, FOB USA).
