INDUSTRY'S FIRST 2.5GHz LVECL/LVPECL 8:1 MULTIPLEXER FROM MAXIM
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 24, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9389, a single, low-skew differential LVPECL/PECL/LVECL/ECL 8:1 multiplexer designed for clock and data redundancy and multiplexing circuits. Applications include mass storage servers, DSLAMs, base stations, automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches, and routers. It is also ideal for communications applications where low jitter (1.15ps RMS maximum added random jitter at 2.5GHz) is critical for signal integrity. Additionally, the MAX9389's two identical outputs make it useful in redundant systems.
The MAX9389 operates from a wide 2.375V to 5.5V supply range in PECL (5.0V) or LVPECL (3.0V and 2.5V) systems, and from -2.375V to -5.5V in LVECL (-2.5V and -3.0V) and ECL (-5.0V) systems. Differential outputs are specified at >300mV at 2.5GHz minimum switching frequency over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).
The MAX9389 is available in 32-pin TQFP and QFN packages. Refer to the MAX9386/MAX9387/MAX9388 data sheet for more multiplexers with similar performance. Prices start at $9.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
