MAXIM'S FIRST BUFFERED 16-BIT DACs WITH INTERNAL REFERENCE AVAILABLE IN 5mm x 3mm µMAX

 
 

Note to Editor:The MAX5200-MAX5207 are the industry's most accurate, buffered 16-bit DACs available in a µMAX package. The closest 16-bit buffered DAC competitor has 64LSB (max) INL, while the MAX5200-MAX5207 have only 20LSB (max) INL.
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 20, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX5200-MAX5207, Rail-to-Rail® buffered 16-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs). These devices feature unprecedented integration by fitting a 16-bit DAC, output buffer, and an on-chip, precision voltage reference into a miniature 5mm x 3mm µMAX package. Two power-on reset values are available: zero or midscale.

These DACs offer nearly 4 times lower INL (0.031% max FSR) over other 16-bit buffered DACs in a µMAX package. The MAX5200-MAX5207 are ideal for industrial process control, data-acquisition, and instrumentation applications.

These 16-bit DACs feature a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply range and low 1mA supply current at 5V. Compatible with SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE interfaces, the MAX5200-MAX5207 operate with serial clock rates up to 10MHz. Other key features include guaranteed 1LSB (max) DNL and 25µs settling time to within ±1LSB.

Prices for the MAX5200-MAX5203* with internal reference start at $3.33. Prices for the MAX5204-MAX5207 with external reference start at $2.83 (1000-up, B-grade, FOB USA).
