SUNNYVALE, CA-September 24, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6461—MAX6466 voltage detectors designed for monitoring battery, power-supply, and regulated system voltages without external components. Each voltage detector contains a precision bandgap reference, comparator, and internally trimmed resistors that set specified trip threshold voltages. All devices feature 5% hysteresis to eliminate chattering in battery-operated equipment.

The MAX6461/MAX6462/MAX6463 are voltage detectors with a typical propagation delay of 17µs. The MAX6464/MAX6465/MAX6466 are µP supervisors that assert a reset when VCC falls below its reset threshold and maintain a reset for the minimum reset timeout period of 150ms after VCC rises above its reset threshold. All voltage monitors offer factory-trimmed thresholds from 1.575V to 5.5V in 100mV increments.

The MAX6461/MAX6464 have an active-low, push-pull output. The MAX6462/MAX6465 have an active-high, push-pull output, and the MAX6463/MAX6466 have an active-low, open-drain output.

The ultra-low 1µA supply current makes these devices ideal for portable equipment. All six devices are available in a space-saving SC70 or SOT23 package and are fully specified from -40°C to +125°C. Prices start at $0.90 (2500 or 10,000-up minimum, FOB USA).
