INDUSTRY-STANDARD 50ppm/°C VOLTAGE REFERENCES FIT IN 3-PIN SC70

SUNNYVALE, CA-August 16, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the LM4050/LM4051, 2-terminal shunt-mode, precision voltage references. These miniature devices fit in a tiny 3-pin SC70 and use 40% less board space than the already small 3-pin SOT23 packages, making them ideal for space-critical portable applications.

The advanced design of the LM4050/LM4051 eliminates the need for an external stabilizing capacitor, while ensuring stability with any capacitive load, thus making these low-power voltage references easy to use. The minimum operating current is 60µA for the LM4051-1.2 (maximum operating current is 12mA).

Maxim's LM4050/LM4051 utilize fuse and zener-zap trim of reference voltages during wafer-sort to ensure that the prime parts have an accuracy of better than ±0.1% (A grade) at +25°C. Three grades (A, B, and C) are offered for each device. The highest-grade devices (A grade) have an initial accuracy of 0.1%, the B-grade devices have 0.2%, and the C-grade devices have 0.5%, all with a tempco of 50ppm/°C guaranteed from -40°C to +125°C.

The LM4051 has a fixed breakdown voltage of 1.225V and the LM4050 offers voltages of 2.048V, 2.5V, 3.0V, 4.096V, and 5.0V. Both devices are also offered in 3-pin SOT23 packages. Prices start at $0.73 (1000-up, C-grade FOB USA).
