LOW-POWER, SC70 µP RESET WITH CAPACITOR- ADJUSTABLE TIMEOUT PROVIDES GREATER DESIGN FLEXIBILITY

 
 

Note to Editor: The MAX6421-MAX6426 are low-power, low-voltage, µP supervisors that monitor 1.8V to 5V systems. These SC70 devices offer a capacitor-adjustable timeout while consuming only 1.7µA.
SUNNYVALE, CA-July 24, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6421-MAX6426 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor supply rails of 1.8V to 5V in µP and digital systems, these small devices consume only 1.7µA of supply current, making them perfect for portable applications.

Whenever the monitored voltage falls below the reset threshold, the reset output asserts and stays asserted for a minimum reset timeout period after VCC rises above the reset threshold. The reset timeout can be adjusted with an external capacitor to meet all processor-timing requirements. Thirty-five factory-trimmed reset thresholds are available from 1.575V to 5V in approximately 100mV increments.

These devices are available with three reset options: an active-low, push-pull output (MAX6421/MAX6424), an active-high, push-pull output (MAX6422), and an active-low, open-drain output (MAX6423/MAX6425/ MAX6426).

The MAX6421/MAX6422/MAX6423 are available in a 4-pin SC70 or 4-pin SOT143 package. The MAX6424/MAX6425/MAX6426 are offered in a 5-pin SOT23 package. The MAX6424/MAX6425 are pin-compatible upgrades to the S807, S808, S809, RN5VD, MC33464/33465, and the NCP300-NCP303. The MAX6426 is pin compatible with the PST92xx.

All devices are fully specified from -40°C to +125°C. Prices start at $0.91 (2500 or 10,000-up, FOB USA).
