QUAD 3.0GHz LVPECL-TO-LVECL TRANSLATORS WITH INTEGRATED INPUT AND OUTPUT TERMINATIONS

 
 

SUNNYVALE, CA-May 21, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9424—MAX9427, the latest members of the Maxim ECL/PECL family of translators. The MAX9424—MAX9427 are quad 3.0GHz LVPECL-to-LVECL translators that accept four differential LVPECL signals and translate them to differential LVECL output signals. The four channels can operate synchronously with an external clock, or independently, determined by the state of the SEL input. Integrated input and output termination reduces external component counts.

The MAX9424 has open inputs and open-emitter outputs. The MAX9425 has open inputs and 50Ω series outputs. The MAX9426 has 100Ω differential input impedance and open-emitter outputs. The MAX9427 has 100Ω differential input impedance and 50Ω series outputs. Inherent low-jitter performance (0.3ps) and low channel-to-channel skew (10ps) are ideal for clock and data distribution applications in automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where signal and clock integrity is critical.

The MAX9424—MAX9427 operate from two supplies: 2.375V to 5.5V VCC for the input stage and -2.0V to -5.5 VEE for outputs, and are specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C. They are available in 32-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFP and 5mm x 5mm thermally enhanced QFN packages. Prices start at $17.46 (1000-up, FOB USA).
