ULTRA-PRECISION DUAL 10- AND 12-BIT DACs FIT IN µMAX PACKAGE
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 6, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX5234-MAX5237. These new devices are dual 10- and 12-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that provide superior linearity combined with low power consumption, all in a small 5mm x 3mm µMAX package. The tiny package size and guaranteed 1/2LSB INL accuracy make the MAX5234-MAX5237 ideal for applications such as industrial process control, motion controllers, and automatic test equipment.
These DACs can be powered by 3V (MAX5234/MAX5236) or 5V (MAX5235/MAX5237) single-supply voltages. Supply current is kept below a 430µA maximum and is reduced to less than 0.4µA when in full power-down mode. Other features include programmable shutdown output impedances of 1kΩ or 200kΩ, output buffers that swing Rail-to-Rail®, and a power-on-reset that clears all registers to zero. The 3-wire serial interface is SPI™, QSPI™, and MICROWIRE™ compatible.
