3.0V TO 5.5V, 52Mbps RS-485/RS-422 RECEIVER IN SOT23
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 11, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX3280E/MAX3281E/MAX3283E/MAX3284E high-speed RS-485/RS-422 receivers in a SOT23 package. These devices are ideal for clock distribution and redundant operation in telecom and networking equipment. Data rates are guaranteed up to 52Mbps with propagation delays under 15ns and skews under 2ns. These devices also guarantee device-to-device propagation delay matching less than 8ns, making these devices ideal for use in parallel data applications.
All devices feature ±15kV ESD protection on the receiver inputs to reduce ESD-related failures. These devices are protected to ±15kV using the Human Body Model, ±12kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge, and ±6kV using IEC
1000-4-2 Contact Discharge, ensuring strict compliance with international standards.
The MAX3280E-/MAX3281E/MAX3283E/MAX3284E operate from a single 3.0V to 5.5V supply. The MAX3284E features a separate logic supply input, providing compatibility with low-voltage logic down to 1.65V. This family of devices features true fail-safe inputs, which guarantee a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted, or if all transmitters are disabled on a terminated bus.
The MAX3280E-/MAX3281E/MAX3283E/MAX3284E are available in the extended temperature range. The MAX3280E is available in a 5-pin SOT23 and the MAX3281E/MAX3283E/MAX3284E are available in 6-pin SOT23 packages. Prices start at $0.45 (2500-up, FOB USA).
