2-CHANNEL 8-BIT ADCs FIT IN SOT23
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 28, 2000-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX1115MAX1119 serial interface, 100ksps, 8-bit ADCs. Ideal for portable and battery-powered applications, these parts combine an internal track/hold, voltage reference, clock, and VDD monitor in an 8-pin SOT23 package. They are a complete family of 8-bit ADCs with 3V or 5V single-supply operation, internal or external reference, and one or two input channels. Their small size, low-power operation, excellent dynamic performance, and ease of use make them well suited for battery-powered portable applications.
All parts in the family operate from a single +2.7V to +3.6V (MAX1115/MAX1117), +4.5V to +5.5V (MAX1116/MAX1119), or +2.7V to +5.5V (MAX1118) supply.
Consuming only 175µA (135µA for the MAX1118) at a sample rate of 100ksps, adaptive power consumption reduces the supply current to 18µA at 10ksps and under 5µA at slower sampling rates. The full-scale analog input range is determined by the internal +2.048V reference (MAX1115/MAX1117), internal +4.096V reference (MAX1116/MAX1119), or an external reference (MAX1118) in the 1V to VDD range.
The serial interface connects directly to SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE devices without external logic. The MAX1115MAX1119 are available in 8-pin SOT23 packages in the extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range, with prices starting at $0.99 (1000-up, FOB USA).
