SUNNYVALE, CA—April 3, 2008—Maxim Integrated Products (Pink Sheets: MXIM) introduces the MAX19693, the industry's highest performance 12-bit, 4.0Gsps, wideband digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This DAC is optimized for direct digital synthesis of high-frequency and wideband signals in the first Nyquist zone. It offers excellent spurious and noise performance and can directly synthesize signals in the frequency range from DC to nearly 2GHz. The MAX19693 achieves a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of greater than 70dBc for output frequencies less than 800MHz, and 62dBc at an output frequency of 1500MHz. At a 4.0Gsps update rate and output frequency of 200MHz, the device offers a wideband-noise spectral density of -164dBm/Hz. The 4.0Gsps output-update rate and high-performance architecture of the DAC enable this excellent wideband dynamic performance. The MAX19693's outstanding performance makes it ideal for wideband communications, radar waveform and local oscillator (LO) signal synthesis, electronic warfare, arbitrary waveform generators, automatic test equipment, and direct digital synthesis (DDS).
The MAX19693 operates from 3.3V and 1.8V supplies, and consumes 1180mW at 4.0Gsps. Fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range, it is available in a compact, 11mm x 11mm, 169-ball CSBGA package. Contact the factory for pricing.
Maxim Integrated Products, a two billion dollar company, designs and manufactures ICs for analog and mixed-signal applications. The company has designed over 5400 products, more than any other analog semiconductor company, in the 25 years since its founding.
