The MAX2165 is a single-conversion tuner for mobile TV.
This highly integrated tuner reduces size and cost by eliminating the need for an external LNA and filter, thus enabling the industry's smallest package.
The integration of a tracking filter and transmit-reject notch filter enable this reduction in size and cost.
The MAX2165 is ideal for cell phones, USB sticks, and other handheld devices.
SUNNYVALE, CA—November 8, 2007—Maxim Integrated Products (Pink Sheets: MXIM) introduces the MAX2165 highly integrated, single-conversion tuner for DVB-H, mobile TV applications. This tuner achieves the industry's lowest external bill-of-materials (BOM) in the smallest package by integrating all of the tuning functions along with an RF-tracking filter; low-noise amplifier; transmit-reject notch filter; and programmable baseband, lowpass channel-selection filters into a small, 5mm x 5mm, 28-pin TQFN. High integration in a small package makes the MAX2165 ideal for cell phones and other handheld devices.
The MAX2165 consumes only 21mW of power at 8% duty cycle, covers a 470MHz to 780MHz UHF-signal range, and operates from a single 2.85V supply. It is fully compliant with MBRAI and Nordig requirements, and is specified to operate over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. Prices start at $4.00 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit and reference designs are available now.
