First Quad, SPDT, Single-Supply Analog Switch with Negative Signal Handling Provides Excellent Audio-Signal Quality
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 11, 2006-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX4910 quad, single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch. This switch handles negative signals with a single positive power supply, thus reducing external component count and improving audio-signal quality.
The MAX4910 features integrated shunt resistors to ground. This design reduces audio click-and-pop sounds by depleting the capacitive charge that commonly builds up on the unconnected port of the switch to ground. In addition, an extremely low 0.37 on-resistance, a low 0.35 on-resistance flatness, and a low 0.05% total harmonic distortion yield excellent audio-signal quality.
The MAX4910 operates over the extended -40°C to +85°C temperature range, and is packaged in a 3mm x 3mm, 16-pin TQFN. Prices start at $1.34 (1000-up, FOB USA).
