±15kV ESD-Protected USB Transceivers in 3mm x 3mm
Sunnyvale, CA -January 30, 2006- Maxim Integrated
Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the
MAX13481E/MAX13482E/MAX13483E ±15kV
ESD-protected, USB full-speed transceivers in a
3mm x 3mm, 16-pin TQFN package. These devices
feature a logic-selectable suspend mode that
reduces current consumption and provides a
USB-compliant interface to low-voltage ASIC/CPUs,
making them ideal for handheld devices such as
cellular phones and PDAs. The USB D+ and D- data
lines are protected to ±15kV per the Human Body
Model, providing enhanced protection against ESD
strikes along the cable, and eliminating external
protection circuitry. These transceivers are
compliant with the USB full-speed (12Mbps)
requirements.
The MAX13481E has an active-low enumeration input
that controls an internal pullup switch, and is
pin-for-pin compatible to the Micrel MIC2551A and
PointChips DP1681. The MAX13482E has an
active-low enumeration input that controls an
internal 1.5 kilohm, D+ pull-up resistor. Both
the MAX13482E and MAX13483E offer VBUS detection,
and are pin-for-pin compatible to the PointChips
DP1682 and DP1680, respectively.
The MAX13481E/MAX13482E/MAX13483E operate over
the extended -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees
Celsius temperature range, and are available in a
3mm x 3mm, 16-pin TQFN package. Prices start at
$0.73 (1000-up pricing, FOB USA).
