1-Wire Addressable, 4Kb EEPROM with Programmable I/O for Use in Rack-Based, Multicard Applications
DALLAS, TX—October 29, 2004—Dallas Semiconductor introduces the DS28E04-100, a 4Kb 1-Wire® EEPROM device, the company's first 1-Wire product with external address inputs. These inputs can be used to identify and configure the physical location of the device. The device also provides two GPIO ports that can be configured as level input/output or pulse output with 250ms nominal pulse duration. The address-setting capability with EEPROM and the flexible GPIO ports make the device optimally suited for identification, location, monitoring, and system control in rack-based multicard environments such as cellular base stations, central office switches, and enterprise servers.
The DS28E04-100 is completely powered and operated through the company's 2-contact 1-Wire interface, which can support line configurations consisting of hundreds of 1-Wire devices connected to tens of meters of low-cost wiring.
The DS28E04-100 operates from 2.8V to 5.25V over the
-40°C to +85°C temperature range. It is available in a 16-pin SO package.
1-Wire is a registered trademark of Dallas Semiconductor Corp.
