DS1500은 전 기능의 2000년 규격 만족, 실시간 클록/달력(RTC)으로 경보기, 워치독 타이머, power-on 리셋, 배터리 모니터, 256바이트의 온 보드 비휘발성 (NV) SRAM, 외부 SRAM 백업용 NV 제어 및 32.768kHz 출력을 갖추고 있다. DS1500 내의 모든 레지스터에 대한 사용자의 액세스는 그림 7에 예시된 바이트 와이드 인터페이스와 함께 가능하다. RTC 레지스터는 세기, 년도, 월, 일, 요일, 시, 분 및 초에 관한 데이터를 24시간 BCD (binary-coded decimal) 형식으로 포함하고 있다. 각 달의 날자와 윤년은 자동으로 정정된다.
