Definition

1, 0, 그리고 "Hi-Z" 또는 "open"의 3가지 전기적 출력 상태. Hi-Z 상태는 하이 임피던스 상태로, 출력이 차단되어 신호가 다른 소자에 의해 구동되거나 무정의 (undefined) 상태를 막기 위해 저항에 의해 풀 업/다운되는 open 상태에 있는 것을 뜻한다.

주로 여러 개의 소자를 선택할 수 있는 버스에서 많이 사용된다. 버스가 풀 다운 저항을 갖는 경우, 3상태 (tri-state) 구조는 "wired-OR"로 더빙된 OR 기능을 구현한다.

Tri-State는 National Semiconductor의 상표이다.
