Definition

산업, 과학 및 의학(Industrial, Scientific and Medical). 특정의 최대 방출 전력 제한치 내에서 면허 없이 통신 장비에 사용될 수 있도록 만들어진 무선 주파수 대역. ISM 대역에서 사용하는 장비는 반드시 기타의 이러한 장비에 의한 간섭에 내성이 있어야 한다. 흔히 WiFi (802.11a, b 및 g)와 무선 전화기에 많이 사용된다.
