Definition

바이폴라 접합 트랜지스터(BJT)는 2개 단자(콜렉터와 이미터) 사이의 전류 흐름이 세 번째 단자(베이스)를 통해 흐르는 전류의 양에 의해 제어되는 고체 소자이다.

출력 전류가 입력 전류가 아닌 입력 전압에 의해 제어되는 다른 주 트랜지스터 유형인 FET와 대조적이다.
