SUNNYVALE, CA—July 2, 2009—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX3518, a DOCSIS® 3.0 upstream amplifier that combines the industry's lowest power consumption with optimal distortion performance. This device consumes a mere 1.25W when configured for 31dB of gain and +64dBmVOUT. Moreover, it consumes an ultra-low 25mW in transmit-disabled mode, while achieving a low, 10dB noise figure and 60dBc of harmonic distortion. The MAX3518's industry-low power consumption reduces power-supply requirements and extends battery life in battery-backup systems, thus making it ideal for cable and VoIP modems.
